The Bologna Children's Book Fair will complete 50 years in 2013.
Every year, around the end of March, it is held in Bologna and attracts children's publishers, artists and illustrators from over the world. There is also an Illustrators Exhibition, for which you can submit entries.
Here's mine.

Having had a chance to live in a house with a beautiful garden with lovely flowers blooming all the time, I couldn't resist the urge to press the fallen flower petals in a book and use them for cards and letters! Here are some petals from a sweetly scented pink rose and a very beautiful (and vain) poppy!
On the full moon day, the 3rd of July, was Guru Pournima, the Indian festival where one expresses gratitude and pays respect to their teachers. On that occasion, this picture is for all the teachers I've been lucky to have and from whom I have learnt so much.
You are the North Star to my ship... And I am eternally grateful for your kind guidance.
We have made some Elderflower cordial. Ting has made some lovely drawings of it. And Rosemary has a pretty illustration and the secret recipe too! It's a treat for warm summer days, and so yesterday, we bottled it up in a blue (magic potion) bottle and gave it, with the card above, to a very special person and his very special family!
Recently, I have been sending letters and hand painted postcards to friends and family by 'real' post.
Emails don't really come close to the charm of pen and paper (or paint and paper), or the delight of receiving a real, physical object in your hands, with handwritten words that speak a language of their own...
Work done on the subject of 'Migration'. Draws heavily from personal experience, this one! Happily, it has been shortlisted for this year's Searle Award! Shortlisted work will be exhibited in the Ruskin Gallery from 21st March to 12th April 2012.
Our MA show at the Foyles Art Gallery has just ended. It was a wonderful experience from beginning to end!
Congratulations to everyone for putting up such a wonderful show, and thank you to all who came to see it. We had a very good response thanks to you!
The preparation, involving the cutting and mounting of all our work, was tiring but fun. There's Katie Mountford (classmate and friend) busy cutting out her wonderful little animal pencil drawings!
And this was the first time I had framed my original work. I must say I was pleased. It just looks so different when its presented like that!
The gallery was a lovely little place. Here it is, before the show was put up, blank walls and panels waiting for everyone's work to adorn them.
At the end of a long, busy day, the work was up and ready.
And here's my panel!

We show again at Ruskin Gallery in Cambridge on the 29th of February to the 15th of March.
'Sophie's Friend' is a children’s picture book made in the final project of my MA course.
It is so nice to see our own work printed nicely in a real, physical book!!
Here it is among some of my friends’ books! 'Little Brown' by Narisa Togo and 'The Snow Fox' by Rosemary Shojaie.
They will all be on display at our MA show in London! We’re all so excited!
